In my opinion, it's never too early to remember what life is like from a child's perspective. To see a world so full of playing, exploring, learning. To drown out the "stuff" that gets in the way of what really matters.
To go back to simplicity and honesty.
I'm grateful to be building my life — my adult identity, my career, my marriage — with a little boy by my side. A little boy whose perspective I can tune into when life feels overwhelming and stressful.
A perspective that show me the wonders and possibilities found in the backyard.
A perspective that reminds me of the majesty and mystery that adults take for granted.
A perspective that is always "in the moment," taking each day for what it is, and is simply happy to be here. To be alive.
I'm grateful to see life through his eyes. I think I'm a better person because of it.
