Ever Consider Cloth? Here's Your Chance!

First of all, thank you for all of the emails I received yesterday from fellow young moms. It made me realize just how needed a community like this is! I look forward to chatting with all of you more. In one of those conversations, we were talking about how modern moms are making more researched, informed parenting decisions than our mothers and grandmothers -- specifically when it comes to an "attachment parenting" lifestyle, like baby wearing, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, natural food, etc. And this particular mother was telling me how she didn't have much support in her parenting decisions -- whether her family figured she was young and naive or the philosophy was just so foreign to them.

Did you experience anything like that? I absolutely did -- specifically with cloth diapers. When I told people that we were planning to diaper our unborn child in cloth, you would have thought I said we were living in a pitched tent with no running water.

Horror.

Of course there are plenty of modern moms of all ages who use cloth diapers and practice more natural parenting techniques, but I didn't know any of them. I was the first and I tried to stick by my guns, considering each disposable diaper sits in a landfill for 500 years and is made with chemicals and plastics, rather than soft cloth. But we ultimately ended up using disposables most of the time. Besides the lack of enthusiasm from my family (who generously watched him while I was at work), the day care that we chose to use wasn't familiar with cloth diapers and preferred disposables. But mostly it was the cost that set us back, considering you'll spend anywhere from $10 to $25 for a single diaper.

That's why I'm excited to offer this incredible giveaway opportunity:

Recently I was lucky enough to do extensive cloth diaper testing for Babble.com, for which I spent months testing different brands and types. From pre-folds to all-in-ones, there was a single consistent theme: It's not as hard, messy, disgusting, [insert reaction of choice] as I was told. In fact, I much prefer the cute cloth-diapered butt waddling around the house.

Although I now have dozens of cloth diaper brands at my disposal, Charlie Banana diapers are one of the first I grab. Not only do they have an easy-to-use front pocket design, but you can also use disposable inserts for a hybrid diapering system -- which I love. They also happen to be the best fitting and most absorbent pocket diapers on my toddler. And just look at their cute new Limited Edition print:

So if you've always considered using cloth diapers but didn't have the resources or support to follow through, Charlie Banana is giving one lucky winner six of their 2-in-1 diapers and one of their Limited Edition prints. Simply head over to Family Style and leave a comment, telling me why you'd love to win!
