The next reason to love being a younger mom…
Of course your kids would love you no matter how old or young you were, but given the choice, I’d be willing to bet that most kids would prefer their parents to be on the younger side. Sure I could say that some kids prefer a younger, cooler mom. A trendier mom. A more energetic mom.
But that’s not really it.
Your kids just want as much time as possible with you. And the younger you are, the more time you’ll (hopefully) have to help and watch and love.
So as lonely you might feel sometimes — as much as others might put you down for choosing motherhood over the modern 20s lifestyle — your kids wouldn’t want it any other way. And in the end, your kids will be grateful for the extra years.

I would tend to agree.
I can’t imagine doing what I am doing once I am my mother’s age, or even in my late thirties. I knew I’d have my kids before I was thirty. And really what am I missing out on: drunken nights I can’t remember and hangovers I’d rather forget. Sure- I’ll skip that!

I Agree! I remember when i was in high school a girl who was a year older then me, he parents were older then my grandparents. i remember seeing them slowly walking into the gym to watch her cheer at a basketball game, they walked to slow and frail and it made me sad that it was hard for them to enjoy this and they probably wouldn’t be around to see her have kids herself. so happy to be a young mama!

I completely agree. I am 18 with 4 month old triplets.. I could NOT imagine doing this at the age of 30 or older. A lot of the triplet mamas I stay in contact with are older..some 40′s with 3 infants and they say that age is definitely on MY side. I love that my kids and I almost get to grow up together. I wouldn’t have it any other way!!!

So very true! My parents were young when they had my sisters and I and its nice to see them enjoy their lives now. They were 40 when I turned 18, young enough to enjoy themselves instead of just starting out! I couldn’t imagine being 40 years old and having a child,Yikes! Plus we get to be the MILF’s later on haha

I agree! My mother had me at 35, and she passed away “young” at 56. I can’t help but think about those extra ten years had she had me at 25 instead. I would never fault her for this, after all I am the youngest child, but I always wished for younger parents. Especially because we really start appreciating our parents so much more as they grow older.

My dad was in almost 40 when I was born… In 4th grade, my teacher asked if he was my grandpa at open house. I was in 5th or 6th grade when he turned 50. I remember a friend of mine being shocked, saying “Your dad is 50? My GRANDMA is 50!”

I had young parents, my Dad is only 50 next year (I’ll be 25). They are still young enough to run around with my kids, and be active grandparents, and I know they’ll be around for years to come (fingers crossed!).

That’s right! And another bonus–you can fit in the slides at the playgrounds!
