If this is your first time designing a baby nursery, you’re most likely ready to settle for whatever your local Baby Superstore has in stock and call it a day. You don’t know about the extensive world of design blogs or luxury baby furniture sources — or that there even are nursery design trends. But if you do a little digging around — if you surround yourself in all things baby products and baby design, as I do — you’ll find that you can be more creative and unique than you ever imagined.

I fell in love with the idea of a grey-scheme nursery after seeing the above room featured on Ohdeedoh. From there I found a slew of luxury crib companies offering a grey crib option — like the Oeuf Sparrow, above, for $730, the Alma Papa for $700 and the Stokke Sleepi for $800.

And then I found the most perfect modern grey crib for under $250:

If you’re a fan of the grey crib trend, as I am, this Baby Mod 3-in-1 Fixed Side Crib is only $249.99 at Wal Mart. After doing extensive baby crib testing for Babble.com, I’m confident that the Baby Mod line is the absolute best in affordable modern crib furniture (outside of IKEA, of course).

It’s hard to beat a $250 price tag in general, but for an on-trend modern design? I say grab it!

If I have another child I am absolutely getting this crib. Gray has always been my favorite color (that’s weird, right?) and I’m so glad I’m starting to see it in kid’s stuff.

I LOVE grey cribs and have been struggling to find one that is reasonable priced. Thank you SOOO much for this suggestion. This is the crib I am going to get. If only they shipped to Canada. I will have to ask my in-laws to pick it up next time they are in the states.
